Coconut Milk

– 2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut – 3-4 cups water (use less water for thicker, creamier milk!) – 1 pinch salt – 1 whole date or 1 Tbsp (15 ml) maple syrup for sweetness (optional)


Put the lid on top and cover it with a towel so it doesn't leak.

Blend for about two minutes, or until the ingredients look like they are well mixed.

Use a spoon to take out a small amount to check the taste and sweetness.

Pour the mixture into a big bowl or pitcher that has a nut milk bag, a very thin towel, or a clean T-shirt on top of it.

Put in a jar with a lid and put it in the fridge. It can last up to five days in the fridge, and sometimes even longer.

It can separate in the fridge because it doesn't have any chemicals, so shake it before you use it.
